Finished 1200 pages
I finally finished the book Atlas Shrugged, and I have to say it was one of the best books I've ever read. It was something different that I had never read before. It was all about capitalist and socialist ideas and different philosophies. But it wasn't shoving these ideas down your throat. It was a fiction story that showed the effects of public welfare and really opened my eyes to the extremes that happen in a nation that is obsessed with helping the so called "poor". The book's themes really hit home on me and I agreed with alot of them. After finishing this book I now look at the world differently and consider our government and the welfare system differently. I wish I could pull out one quote, but there are so many to pull out and I can't remember all of them. One quote that doesn't really deal with philosophy but that I love is, "Who is John Galt?" This means why ask questions that no ones knows the answer too. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to read something that will change your views and will give one a whole new view of philosophy, and that doesn't mind to read 1159 pages...
