Worn Out

I am officially worn out. I pitched 24 innings in two days this past weekend and then had to pitch 7 innings on Monday. Thankfully we were playing Mclean County so it didn't matter that I wasn't on the top of my game. But I was lobbying the ball into the batters the entire time. I was soo tired that it didn't bother me at all that this weak team only had four strikeouts from me. I know I'm better than that and that I could easily have had 8 or more if I was 100 percent. Still today I am worn out from school, softball, and all other things. I am soo ready for school to be over as well as softball. I will have sooo much more time to work and make money. AND RELAX. That is what I really want to do, is take a complete day off from everything to catch up on everything. But that won't happen for a long time. I just look forward to it.

Telephone

Yesterday I watched the video from Lady Gaga called "Telephone". She sang this song with Beyonce. This was one of the weirdest videos I've ever seen in my entire life. This song is about her boyfriend that is constantly trying to contact her while she is at a club and Lady Gaga wants to be left alone. But the video is completely different. First Lady Gaga is in jail and she is dancing around in jail in bra and underwear and then there is a girl fight and a makeout session. Then Beyonce bails her out of jail and they go to a random diner in the desert and put poison in all the food and kill all the people at the diner. Then the police start to look for them and the two storm off together. The end of the video says "to be continued..." but I don't think I want to see what happens. This was definitely one of the weirdest videos I've ever seen.

Finished 1200 pages

I finally finished the book Atlas Shrugged, and I have to say it was one of the best books I've ever read. It was something different that I had never read before. It was all about capitalist and socialist ideas and different philosophies. But it wasn't shoving these ideas down your throat. It was a fiction story that showed the effects of public welfare and really opened my eyes to the extremes that happen in a nation that is obsessed with helping the so called "poor". The book's themes really hit home on me and I agreed with alot of them. After finishing this book I now look at the world differently and consider our government and the welfare system differently. I wish I could pull out one quote, but there are so many to pull out and I can't remember all of them. One quote that doesn't really deal with philosophy but that I love is, "Who is John Galt?" This means why ask questions that no ones knows the answer too. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to read something that will change your views and will give one a whole new view of philosophy, and that doesn't mind to read 1159 pages...

Graduation Dress

Last week I got my graduation dress. I went to Bowling Green and looked around at the mall and couldn't find anything! It was so depressing driving back home empty handed after a full day of shopping. Then the next day, my mom calls me and tells me to come to excursions to try on some dresses she had found. I was looking for a springy/summery dress, that was mid-thigh and had straps. When I got to the store the lady already had me a dressing room set up and about ten dresses to try on. The first few were ok but nothing was standing out. I was justing wanting to find a fairly cheap dress that would make me feel pretty. Well I ended up finding it there in Excursions. It was peachy orange with a strap that tied behind my neck. It was also mid thigh and made me look very pretty and thin. It has black thin lines running in spirals across and also a white background. I can't really describe it, but I can't wait to try it on.

The End

I have decided that after my senior year of high school softball that that will be the last time I play organized competive softball. I have been playing softball/baseball since I was 5. The reality of this has recently hit me over the last two weeks and it I haven't gotten fully used to this idea of being done with something after spending years training to be the best. I always thought that I would go to college and continue to play softball and for a time I wanted to go to the pros. I realized quickly that I didn't want to do the pro thing. But over the previous summer I decided that I didn't want to even play in college. I wanted to do something different in my life and concentrate more on my studies since the rest of my life will be reflected on my academics not sports. Now every game I consider how this will be the last time I play this team or travel to a certain place. The reality of this is weird to me and I know I will miss it, but right now I'm realizing all the positives of this decision and the very few negatives. It's exciting to be done with this part of my life.

My type of weather

So this week has been the warmest all week. It started out raining on Sunday, but by Monday the fields and streets were mainly dried out so we could play our game. It was windy and when the sun was behind the clouds it was freezing! On Tuesday, it was in the 70's and it felt AMAZING! We played a game, and all we needed was our light Under Armour. I was actually sweating during our softball game. But the best day so far this week is today. It was 80 degrees outside which is my favorite temperate. Warm but not too too warm. I wanted so bad to put on a bathing suit and jump in the lake or pool. I LOVE the summertime and that was exactly how it felt today. No matter how bad my day was I knew walking outside and feeling the breeze would make my day, perfect.

Biology Lab Report

At the beginning of the third nine weeks, our Biology class had to do a lab report testing the variation of population. We were giving almost nine weeks to complete the task, and still some people have not turned it in; and it's now the fourth nine weeks. After we completed this lab, we were given a book to find invertabrates for another lab that we had to do. I picked the texas land snails because I wanted something different and less creepy than everything else. Most people got their animals about two weeks ago, including me. But some didn't have there's yet. Yesterday in class, Bates tells us that our labs are due today. Some people didn't even have their animals yet. I was soo mad because we had forever to do the other lab and about two weeks to do this one, which was going to be alot harder. Last night I got home, I thought about getting started on something but decided against it. Bates had promised us that we could see the our other lab report before we had to turn this one in. I have decided that I will turn this lab in when I feel like it. I don't have time to do it now.

National Treasure

In government, because it's the last day before spring break, we are watching National Treasure. And Edmonson isn't here today. I've seen this movie like 20 times, but I still think it's one of the better movies recently produced by Disney productions. It is intense and exciting and the storyline is very good. I really like all the characters in the movie, and they all seem believeable to me. One thing that is disappointing though is that the second movie, the sequel, is awful. The plot is confusing, and the two lovers from the first are broken up and it was kinda disappointing. They put new characters and new lovers in the movie and just made the story more disappointing because it wasn't needed. It was disappointing to know that the first was soo good and the second soo bad.

vs. Greenwood

Last night our softball team played Greenwood, who was ranked 25th in the state, although none of us knew these. The night before we had played a team that we could have easily beaten if it wasn't for our errors and lolly-gagging around. All our us were not serious about the game, because we thought we would easily win, and we ended losing in extra innings. The other senior and I were on fire about the lose. We weren't going to take it anymore. So when we showed up at the field today, we were serious. We told everyone that we weren't going to jack around and shoot the bull, but we were ALL going to be serious and win this game, because we were tired of losing. Of course all the other players were mad at our pissing mood and were talking bad about us. We didn't care, we knew that it was the best thing for the team. One of the players even got into it with me. But we won the game. Afterwards, the entire team apologized for ratting on us. It felt great.

Intern at the Hospital

For Academic Intern, I first went to Olympic Therapy which was an outpatient faciulty and now for the 4th nine weeks I am going to the Rehab unit at the Hospital. For my first day I had to take a test and get a badge and do a TB skin test (again). I was a little confused because I would only be there for nine weeks and I was having to all this stuff like I was an employee. I thought about just throwing my hand up and going back to Olympic Therapy where I didn't have to do anything, expect show up. But after my first day there, I was very glad that went to intern at the hospital. I enjoyed it so much and even more that an outpatient clinic. I'm not sure why, I suppose because there are alot of people there and they all seem to get along and it's laid back. I really enjoy going over to the hospital.

Smile

" You make me smile like the sun, fall out of bed, sing like a bird, dizzy in my head, spin like a record; crazy like a sunday night. You make me dance like a fool, forget how to breathe, shine like gold, buzz like a bee; just the thought of you can drive me wild. Oh, you make me smile" :)

This is Uncle Kracker new single and I can't get this song out of my head and the tune is so catchy. And i can't stop listening to it. It's going to drive me crazy!!!! But i like it.

Biology Class

Biology class is so dumb this year. We don't do anything, just socialize and walk around the school. O and do homework for other classes. This year we haven't learned anything and Bates likes to sit on his computer and do whatever he does. It's pretty frustrating because i really wanna learn in this class to be ready for college. Bates said we will do a section on anatomy but i don't think i believe him and i really want to do this so i can have a small heads up in college and not flunk out of anatomy the first semester. I really concerned about Biology right now and i wish i could've gotten out of this class and taken anatomy and something that will help me in college.

New Phone

Yesterday I got a new phone. During the District game on Friday my phone tryed to restart and instead showed an coming on it decdied to not. startedt= to show for over 12 ours. The next morening i'm sitll without a cell phone. I got to the attt and tet andbllod at phones. These would all be nice to have but i needed something that will endure alot and have a good prgighhtp. I ended up getting a Motoralla phone which is very junkie and ceahp looking but so far i 've had no problems with it.

District Chamsionship

For the District Championship, many people from apollo decided to dress up in white polos and khaki pants. I thought that a lot of people would be doing this so I got some hook ups and had in line to get a OC polo and an OC khaki pants. I got to the game just as it was starting and walked into the gym and saw about 15 to 20 people wearing the outfit. I was very disappointed. Also there was only 3 girls doing it other than me. I figured if my friend went through so much trouble to get me the outfit, I might was well wear it. And i'm glad i did. Catholic has some of the most comfortable pants ever!! Overall I was really glad I dressed up for the game because I had a lot of fun and loved wearing those pants.

Paioli Peaks

Today i went to Paioli Peaks and had a blast! I went with Kelsi, Sean, and Andrew along with my family and a few other people. If more than 20 people went we got a group rate of 35 dollars because of some special weekend thing. This was definitely one of the funniest things in my life. We spent the whole time laughing at each other at our poor abilities to ski and snowboard. Sean and I ended up being the better skiers of our group. It seemed that the other two who were both tall were the worst skiers! They spent most of their time on ground in the snow. But the one that took the cake at being the worst was my mom. She would literally be on the ground for 20 minutes trying to get up. She fell off the ski lift everytime she was on it. It was soo sad, yet soo funny. I hope to never forget this trip.

Dear John

This weekend Dear John comes out in theaters. I read the book about a year ago and absolutely loved it. I'm not a big fan of Nicholas Sparks but I did like this book. I didn't know this movie was coming out til last week. I apparently aren't connected to the real world very much. I'm very excited the Channing Tatum is playing John because I think he will play John very well and he fits the character very well. Amanda Seyfried or as i like to call her "Karen" from mean girls will be interesting to see how she does. I don't think i would have picked her to play the girl but i'm excited to see how she does. Overall i'm very excited to see this movie and have a real visual of what happens in Dear John.

Conditioning

Four days during the week we have conditioning. Everyone enjoys Mondays and Wednesday better than Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Mon. and Weds. we run laps and then weight lift and bat. This is considered our easy day because we can go at our own pace and we aren't pushed too hard. But on Tues. and Thurs. we do alot of cardio and strengthing. After one of these practises we are sore for a few days because of the amount of exercise we do. It's very painful and no one likes it. It seems to get harder and harder as we go on, which is good, but nobody likes it. Also on Tues. and Thurs. the pitchers are going to start pitching for an hour. So far pitchers have been pitching for about 20 minutes and running and doing other crazy crap for 30 minutes. And there is always about 10 minutes of standing around getting ready to do this stuff. Our pitchers are going to need lots of pitching time if we are going to be any good this year. And so far all we are doing is building endurance.

last Blog of Jan.

We were required to write 10 for the month of January. This was a little outrageous and I'm glad that I'm done with it. It's hard to think up blogs that will actually make sense and that someone might want to read. I even got to the point where I defined my name and blogged how I liked it. This was defiently one of my sorryest blogs but all I could think about was things that define me, such as my name because no one else has it. Another thing is that I am trying not to talk about the same subject in the same month because that might get allittle dull. I know that it would never be dull but there is always a few in the world that would want to shake things up and think my blogs are dull. These 10 blogs in a month are killing me to the point where I have to review over my blogs. But I will save the readers from inifinite torture and end this blog and therefore end this month.

Pressure

Most people say good things about senior year, and for the most part I agree with them. But I have chosen to take some OCC classes which give me the feel of college classes. And I think this is one of the best decisions I have made. Another pressure of senior year is choosing a college. Lucky the major and career I'm going for is only offered at very few colleges. Only 2 in the state of KY offer a Physical Therapy Graduate program and the best way to get into the graduate program is go to to the school for undergraduate to get your foot in the door. I had an easy decision picking my college, University of Evansville and I couldn't be happier. A third pressure of senior year is keeping my grades up. Most people in their senior year contract Senioritis. I could easily do this because I've already gotten my academic scholarship and my college doesn't require that I send in my grades at the end of the year. But I want to contract this disease because I want to pass my classes and not have the disease carry over to next year and become a habit. People all around me getting Senioritis but I will not let it get me. The fourth pressure is Scholarships. This is the biggest problem I have right now, because there are sooo many that I don't apply for. I have all the these other pressures plus writing essays and filling out tons of forms for something that I may not even get. It feels like a waste of time when you spend a month writing an essay and not win the money. I have a hard time concentrating on doing this because I have other things to work on. I need to start making time to fill out scholarships and get money for college.

Paige

Since I can't think of a good blog subject, I will talk about my name. Paige is mainly a girl's name but can also be a boy's name. Paige means "young servant". It is of english origin. In the medieval times a page meant a young boy that was a household servant whose was in the first step of training to become a knight. On the latest SSA list the name Paige is ranked number 89. Naming a child is a big thing in someone's life. You are stuck with the name for the rest of your life under most circumstances. Most people don't even like their name. I, like my name. Sure i'm the butt of alot of jokes but my name is unique to me and not many people have that name so i'm rarely confused with others. I also like the fact that I have an "I" in my name so I don't resemble too much like a page in a book. This name makes me feel unique and not like a page in a book, which i'm very thankful for. Overall I like my name and I'm glad I'm stuck with it.

Senior Shirts

It's a tradition for Apollo Softball that the seniors always get to pick out the designs for the shirts that everyone has to buy. Last year the 5 seniors did a terrible job at picking out the designs and shirts and me and the other senior decided that we wouldn't repeat their horrible design skills. We started early and looked at many different designs and finally decided on many designs. For the practice shirts we are going to have a pitcher on the front and on the back it will say "Life's a..." Which implies life's a pitch. Then for the team shirt we found an eagle on the internet and we will put the eagle on the middle of the shirt but it will be smaller than normal. Then on the back of the shirt it will say "Are you ready to let the dogs out?" The shirt will be charcoal gray which is something new that our team has not tried yet. The sweatshirts will be blue which is also something new and exciting to have a different color than gray in our closet. It will say Apollo on the front in cursive. The sweatpants are going to be black, also something new. The pant leg will say "Softball" in cursive written on the side. Everything we are doing this year is new and exciting for both of us seniors. I'm excited to see how these decisions will look in 3D.

Most Beautiful

One of the hunkest and most beautiful people I have ever laid eyes is Gerard Butler. I think if anyone that has ever seen this man will agree with me. I don't care if any disagrees with me because my opinion (to me) only matters. Even though this man is 40 years old, I think he is the most attractive man ever! I have seen almost every movie he is in and have yet to be disappointed! If there is a movie on in the theaters that features him I am there!! His accent makes my knees weak! I love the way that when he talks and smiles his mouth goes to the side and his face stubble glistens in the sun. His body is beautiful and fit for a guy his age. Also he isn't married which makes him completely available for me to look at and think about. :P His eyes are wonderful too!! In the light his eyes can be two different colors and that is sooo attractive! One thing that I want soo badly is a poster of this man for my dorm room in college. That would make any room perfect. So in conclusion i think that Gerard Butler is the most beautiful man ever and I would do about anything to meet him!

Number One

Tonight UK played Arkansas. Texas, in the past week had lost against Kansas State making only one team in the nation undefeated, Kentucky. This is the first year under John Calipari and he has already taken his team to an undefeated season and maybe a number one spot. He was recruited some of the top players in the nation and they have produced better than anyone could have imagined. He has completely turned a team around that last year barely made it to the NIT tournament and then this year is soon to be the number one seed in the entire country!!! This is truly amazing and I couldn't be happier with the way that UK is playing. Arkansas is not a hard team but in the past two weeks UK has had problems with easily defeating teams. But UK did not disappoint this week. Arkansas got hammered 101 to 73!! I think that every blue wearing fan couldn't be prouder. Everyone in the country knows that University of Kentucky will be number one on Monday in the country and I can't wait to take it in and brag about it!

Dress

On this past Monday, me, my mom and my boyfriend drove down to Bowling Green to look at dresses at some consignment shops to find a dress for snowball and/or prom. There was absolutely nothing! I have a cousin that lives down in Bowling Green that had told us if we didn't find a dress then to go to Ziobro's in Princeton, KY to find a dress because that is where she got hers. After the looking at the horrible selection of dresses we went to the mall and bought a few clothes from Forever 21 (my favorite store) and then started on the hour drive to Princeton. This town looked very run down and old-fashioned. We turned down the street and the one nice building in the entire town was the Ziobro's. It was quite out of place. We walked in and were immediately taken back at all the dresses we saw. Over half the store was prom dresses. This was the most prom dresses I've ever seen, anything you would want you could find at this store. They even had their own catalog. Actually this is the store that provides the dresses for miss Kentucky! So we knew we would find something here. We were in the store for 3 hours looking at the dresses!!!! I tried on a few and thought they were pretty but I wasn't glued to any and wanted to keep looking for that one Perfect Dress. Mom keep throwing me dresses and finally she gave me one that she said the lady of the store said that it was their most commented dress. I couldn't wait to try it on. It was a leopard dress that was floor length and straight with a jeweled shoulder strap. As soon as I put it on and walked out of the dressing room, I knew this was my dress!!! I couldn't stop smiling and me and my boyfriend agreed that this was the best dress and by far our favorite. But my mom wasn't completely set. She wanted to keep looking and all I wanted to do was wear my dress and buy it before anyone else tried it on. Mom finally ran out of dresses to give me and she gave in to the dress. She thought it was pretty but it wasn't her favorite. It was kinda frustrating that she wasn't completely set on it but she knew that I should wear what I want so we bought the dress and now I have a dress for snowball and prom and I can't wait to wear it and show off my dress!!!

Just like you CD

Allison Iraheta was on American Idol last year and was the third runner up. She was only 16 years old when she was on American Idol and by far one of my favorite contestants. She had a very different voice that many people associate with Kelly Clarkson and Pink. For being only 16 and having that powerful of a voice I thought she was one of the best on the show. She has since came out with her first CD. It is titled Just Like You. When i heard about the CD release I immediately looked online and read some reviews about the CD and sampled some songs. I'm not one to spend money on things i don't need or want badly. After listening to her music I could not wait to purchase the album because everything I had heard I loved! I bought the CD last week and have since yet to get tired of it. I love every song on the album and sing them all. I love blare her music all through my car and belt out the tunes. My favorite song off the CD at the moment is Still Breathing but I still love all the other songs. I'm so glad that I bought this CD and do not regret spending 15 dollars on it. It is well worth listening to and getting a taste of Allison Iraheta.

Atlas Shrugged

The latest book I have been reading is "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand. This book was written i believe in 1957 and is considered a "classic". The author was convinced to write about her philosophies and the views of the world and she decided to make a fiction book about them. This is her longest novel with over 1100 pages. So far this book is very interesting. I am really enjoying this book. This book has even made me angry with some of the socialist ideas that the fictional characters have and demonstrate. The government in the book is very socialist also and there viewpoints are strongly resented by rand and she therefore makes them the antagonists. This is a very clever way to write a fiction book, not to make it some lovey dud love story but with substance and decisions and logic. I love to read a wide variety of books and this book is unlike other fiction books that i read and i can't wait to see what will happen. The very first line is "who is john galt?" I have come to find out that this is a repeated question in the book and means don't ask questions that don't have answers. This quote, to me, speaks mountains and i love how it can be used and the confusion it brings to people. It is a senseless quote but i believe it's very powerful. I looke forward to reading the rest of this 1100 page book.

2009

My favorite memories of 2009 were:
1. My favorite memory of 2009 and one of my favorite ever is getting accepted to Unversity of Evansville and getting direct entry for physical therapy at Unversity of Evansville. This is one of my favorite memories because as of this very moment i have a spot reserved for me in three years after I get my bachelor's degree I am automatically into the graduate program for physical therapy. I absolutely love UE campus and every little thing about it and can't wait to go to college.
2. Over the Christmas break i started going out with someone from Catholic and this is my second favorite memory from 2009. I think this guy is very different from anyone i've ever dated and I haven't been happier. I really like being with him and am glad i met him.
3. During August i was in Booneville for a pitching lesson and afterwards me and two girls from my travel team went fishing in the pond behind the building. This is one of the funniest moments ever. After we got done fishing everyone of us was covered in mud and fish water.
4. In September i went to Catholic's homecoming and this was one of the funniest nights of my life. I had never actually danced at a dance and all my friends were there and it was a blast! i was still hyped up about for like a week afterwards and that was all i could talk about, was how much fun i had at a dance.
5. I played summer ball for the Indiana Stingers this past summer and had never had more fun playing the sport. I met soo many great people and will not forget any of them. I was the only one from Kentucky and we constantly joked about this and many other things. I miss them all the time and wish that i had more time to go up there and spend it with them.
6. For spring break our varsity softball team traveled to disney world to play. this is one of my favorite memories because i got to hang out with some of my really good friends and bond with more people. I will never forget the dance party and our april fools prank.
